Uh oh, we’re back! We’ve gotten so much hate mail in the preceding two weeks about our sporadic output, and that ends right now. Tom bought a gun. Also, we didn’t receive a single bit of feedback about our hiatus, and some of you even went back and listened to some of our old episodes, so thank you! Now listen to them again.
This episode we’re covering one of The Fall’s best songs off of what could be argued is their best album, “Tempo House” off of 1983’s flawless Perverted by Language.
We were genuinely surprised by some of the lyrics, as neither of us ever bothered to look them up. We also dive deep into the song’s impossibly stupid annotations and comments on the Annotated Fall.

For this week’s interview, we covered The Oral History of Mark E. Smith, a remembrance of sorts from many of the folks who worked and/or were married to him. It’s a genuinely great read, but we read it to you, so don’t feel obligated to spend hours sounding out the written word. We also discuss the hideous mural at the top of the article (see above), and Vice in general. For a more nuanced and informed discussion Vice, Tom highly recommends the last episode of the excellent Cyber podcast, which was immediately taken down from their feed by the higher-ups, but here is a mysterious Dropbox link where you can listen to it.
